I have a 2005 Impala. It won't start. It does make some clicking kind of noises when I am trying to start it. The headlights come on, but after trying to start the car several times they would not come on. When I would pull the headlight switch and leave it pulled out there was a clicking kind of noise - even though the headlights were not coming on. Any ideas what it could be?

You need to start out testing the battery and cable connections. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Would the starter affect the lights at all?

If the battery is discharged or faulty or the batteries connections are not clean and tight, that will affect the lights and the starting system. You should follow HT's advice. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
