85,000 Kilometers
I have a Corsa 1.2 - the water pump went, causing the head gasket to warp and the engine to need replacing. A new engine is €3,500 (including 12 hours labour), whereas its valuation (based on mileage, age, etc but assuming engine ok) is €4,050. The car is 8 years old but has only done 80,000km. I am thinking of selling the car. How much should I advertise it for (taking in to account for being haggled down)? Many thanks.

Realistically its not worth much more than scrap metal is going for. The cost of repair just in parts is nearly the value of the car, leaving little room for even someone mechanically inclined to fix himself and come out ahead. This would be a hard one to sell.
