Cooling water leakage Sign In

Toyota Sequoia 5.7 ltr. I have just finished changing the oil and filter and test running the engine for any leaks when I noticed cooling water leaking from the area of the transmission housing. Please could you advise if there is cooling water for the transmission before I do battle with Toyota who will invariable ask to see the car and charge a fortune for investigating.

Re: Cooling water leakage Sign In

There is no coolant in the transmission itself but there are plenty of things that can leak coolant onto the transmission from above.

Re: Cooling water leakage Sign In

Thanks Mr. Hammer time I appreciate your response having viewed the area again I came to the same conclusion. The area under the front seat cooling/heating does this have a separate system or does it take coolant from the engine radiator via a thermostat to heat the cabin. I suspect this is where the leakage may be coming from.
If so how can I obtain an exploded parts diagram for the car to narrow down the possibilities?

What you need to do is have the system pressure tested so you can see exactly where the leak is originating from and then we go from there.

Cooling water? Is this antifreeze or condensate from the ac system?
