Coolant leak...gasket issue?

1994 Ford F-150 straight-6 4.9l 85k Coolant buildup around spark plugs? When I drive my truck after cutting the engine I heard a sizzling sound under the hood... There was coolant bubbling up out of one of the spark plugs. After googling my issue I've heard some say head gasket, others say intake manifold gasket. Any idea which it is or how I could find out? Thanks in advance, Aaron

If the intake gasket was somehow leaking coolant into a runner, you would have more of a problem than coolant bubbling up out of a spark plug. You should pressure test the coolant system with the engine cold to see where the leaks are. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up on your threads when a problem is resolved.

I seriously doubt it was coming out of a cylinder. It was spilled onto a cylinder from the outside. You need to pressure test the cooling system to find the leak. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Agree with HT here. If it was in your cylinder not only would it not come out of the threads for the spark plug your engine would hydrolock. Do DS's pressure test and see where it is coming from.
