Coolant in my oil Sign In
So my low coolant light comes on so I figure there is a leak. I eventually look at my oil cap and see the milky gooey coolant/oil mix. So I don't have the money to fix the thing right now. Should I use a liquid sealer to try and fix it? and why?

How bout we start with year, make, model and engine size. I will tell you that you can forget the sealer idea right off the bat.

I agree stay away from the sealer.

If the milky oil is on the bottom of the oil cap, that's normal. If you pull the dipstick and it looks like what is on the cap, that is a problem.

No sealer - we all agree on that. Coolant low could be elsewhere and milky goo under oil cap normal if where you are has a lot of dew on windows it's in your engine too overnite. Usually cars that are parked outdoors and not all do that.

Keep coolant properly filled for now and tell us what kind of car. Pressure testing cooling system is among some things to start with. Also, is oil level too full?
