I have a code that comes up, the engine light comes on, stays on for awhile then goes out, I get P0300 which is multiple Mis-fires, where should I start in my troubleshooting / Repair process?.

Re: Code Sign In

How about starting with year, make, model and engine size?

What have you tried already and what has been changed in the ignition system and when?

Sorry I forgot that! 2005 Ford Taurus, 3.0L U.

I had the plugs and wires changed in 2010 and just general maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, etc.

Re: Code Sign In

You're going to have to investigate some to find out what's going on. Plugs and wires are usually the first suspects but there are loads of things that can cause that. If you have a scan tool, you should be able to retrieve the actual misfire counts for every cylinder to help you pinpoint where it's coming from.

Re: Code Sign In

I will start with the plugs and wires, my scanner came up with P0300 so there are several things that could cause this, thanks for the help.
