I have a 2005 Chevy Aveo, and the lock tumbler for the driver's side door has fallen into the door. Subsequently, my car door won't open. How can I get my door open? I have tried to take the door panel off, but I can't remove one of the lower screws due to it's proximity to the driver's seat. It is incredibly frustrating to not be able to use the driver's side door. I have tried the coat hanger trick, but it hasn't worked. Thank you for your help!

You really need to remove door panel with minimal to NO damage. I'd try to retrieve the cylinder and put it back in just long enough to either turn with a key or use interior unlock/open handle/knobs. There are cool pick up tools to get the thing close and with ingenuity you can get it back in place but it isn't locked there with a missing "U" clip on inside that might still be inside the door intact or broken. This tool type can help.... They work like this.... When you get it close enough - try to get a key or key blank even in there and tie it so you don't lose it again. Good luck, T
