Cavalier won't turn over Sign In

It recently hit - 40 and I didn't plug my cav in, following morning it just didn't start.

I tired boosting it today and it cranked over once and sounded like it wanted to start but now I get. Notthing... Every time I turn into on position it takes power away from dash and headlights...
I have a brand new starter already and battery was tested and is fine.. I'm very confused, I just put a brand new clutch kit in As well and has ran fine for a few weeks but now this

-40F or C about the same. If you expect this for temps you have to "plug in a block heater" or garage car. A jump might have worked with a good jumper box that was warm not that temp or not much help.

Everything must be 100% - battery know good constantly and just toss it at 3-4 years old for new. Cables kept clean, correct oil for it suggest synthetics.
Extremes like that. Blanket over hood and cover grille if need be. Run car till fully warmed up overnight if expecting this.
There's no real surprise it tried and just couldn't to me those temps require extreme preparedness if expecting it,

Re: Cavalier won't turn over Sign In

it could be anything. a weak battery, usually if it does not make a clicking noise it's the starter unless the battery is low. I had this sort of issue with my 2003 impala last year and my 2006 malibu this year. there are test you can do to determin what is wrong.
BTW 40 is not that cold. multigrade oil can go a lot colder then that. synthetic is even better. I always thought plug in heaters were for below zero temps.

Maybe not but what he posted was minus 40 and that is cold. If you're going to respond to other people's questions, make sure your are right.

Re: Cavalier won't turn over Sign In

? Was that a 'minus' or started with a 'dash' mark? That's an 80* difference! Do remember that the standard mix of antifreeze is protection to -34F so if -40F that's slush inside, battery CCA are rated at +32F the difference is so extreme you take extreme measures to live those temps. Tires are flat, shock oils are just gum and so on.
These are extremes you have to learn how to deal with are out of the range or normal for suggested, typical owner's manual recommendations up to too cold to use certain fuels.
At some point each product fuel or other is a whole different game. Rubber is brittle, fuels go to gel not a liquid or a liquid not a vapor nor will evaporate.

The game is you can't leave things OUTSIDE things weren't meant to use and simply are not going to work,

The OP hasn't made any responses at all to this so I wouldn't waste a lot of effort here.
