Car was in ditch in flowing water. Started to drive home, but won't start now.

My son's 2004 Honda Civic EX was washed into a ditch when he drove thru high water. It was not submerged, but water was flowing over the hood for a couple hours. When he got it pulled out, it started and he drove it home, this was at 12:00 pm. When he went out at 4:30 am to go to work the next day it will not start. We did check the oil (thru the dip stick) and it looked normal, no streaks or difference in color. When he went out at 4:30 am, the lights and door dinger came on but wouldn't start. At 1:30 pm the same day, no lights or dinger come on. We tried to jump start it, nothing. We check 3 or 4 connectors under the hood and they are all dry. The fuse box under the hood is dry. Any suggestions?

flood vehicles are problematic as its often extensive time involved to repair them, some issues do not emerge for some time as the corrosive issues take time to develop - notify your insurance company and do cost analysis.
Trying a step by step would depend on skill level and tools available to you. A test light, a DVOM, very likely a scanner, understanding and comfort with wiring diagrams...

All the computers were submerged. That car is nothing but scrap now.
