Car unused for several months, what to do before driving

I purchased a 2001 Volvo S60 a while back, probably around six months by this point. I haven't driven it yet though, on account of some repairs and the fact that I only recently got my license. My question is, is there anything I should do before driving it, on account of it sitting for months? I'm specifically concerned about the oil and the gas. P.S. I had been starting it every couple days even though I wasn't driving it, until the battery died probably two or three months ago, I got the battery fixed a week ago. The gas tank was full when I got it.

You probably don't have anything too serious to worry about. The gas would be the only concern and 6 months isn't really a big concern. The battery was the only thing that had to be done and you already did that. I would probably get the oil changed not too long after you start driving it regularly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If it was being used 6 months ago you should be fine for gas. I'd still put about 2oz of SeaFoam in it right away wouldn't hurt it if there's gallons in it now. Change oil just because start your own history of what was done + when. Other: Pet peeve for me and a problem is expose disc brakes that sit. OMG they really can be trashed new as they don't get the same exposure where pads are as the rest of rotors. If long enough or wrong situation where it was that trashes the rotors if new! Also, make a habit of just drag parking brake if the type inside rear rotors never get rubbing action only static action when stopped. I mean just hold release when out of all harms way moving along slow drag just a little now and then. It will help had quite a fight with several this year in particular TWO were Volvos by chance that type isn't make of car dependent IMO a lousy way to make parking brakes. Just wet from day and night doesn't require salts, just time of sitting - weeks. The Volvos were lots longer, T
