Camaro cruse control won't work Sign In

Hello I have a 1995 chevey Camaro z28. And have recently seen a problem a few weeks ago I was driving down the highway and decided to turn cruse control on and it didn't work so I just drove normally to my destination when I came back home it worked so having the engine off for a bit seamed to fix the problem. But yesterday a few a few weeks after it didn't work it did the same thing agine so I l pulled over turned the engine off then started it back up but that didn't fix the problem so I got out and checked the fuse and it said it for the cruse and the ac the fuse wasn't blown and the ac still worked so I knew that wasn't the problem and there is another issue I don't know if they are related or not but yesterday before the cruse quit working we forgot we were low on gas so we almost ran our but luckily there was a gas station 100 feet from us so we filled up with gas and after 4 30 mile trips it is still on full we put a little gas in but that didn't do any thing if it's the sending unit we will just guess how much gas we have becuse you need to remove the axle to get to it we had a pump puT in and labor was very expensive I would really apresheate any help

Rule out some common stuff first as best you can. When cruise doesn't work do the brake lights all come on and go off properly? If cruise even smells you are trying to stop (senses brake lights) are below a certain speed (speed sensor at trans sending info) or any mis- info the default is the shut that off.

Fuel pump/gauge. True, most are hard to replace just getting to them. If gauge doesn't move doesn't mean sender is bad. You said you ran it quite low which you should never do at the risk of blowing the pump which just might have been about to and getting hot stuck the float for the gauge?

Hard to know just yet. Plug to fuel pump and sender is/was a problem spot itself as well as any now at the age that are exposed.

Tests for the gauge could include a thought out whack on the tank itself when you know the level is down some by miles you've driven since known full it might fall to the actual fuel level.

Grounds have to be good all over things - all makes of anything and almost nobody ever tends to them. Look for some common things first that should be dealt with anyway or greased to prevent a future problem.

Don't ever let fuel get that low! It's got to be the #1 fuel pump killer as fuel is the lube and cools the electric pump and too hot or no lube from being wet it's trouble now or you've harmed it already,

Do a visual inspection first. Inspect the cruise control cable assembly and be sure the cable hasn't detached from either cruise control module assembly or the throttle body. Inspect the electrical connector for corroded pins or damage to the electrical harness. If it looks good visually you're going to need to do some electrical checks using a 12 volt test light and volt meter. If you don't know how to diagnose electrical circuits, you're going to need to take it to your mechanic.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

SUGGESTIONS:
before the wiring diagrams, paid labor route - SCAN for codes yes even if CEL is off...
As colleague mentioned check brake switch - .. Cruise control is the upper- 2 wire switch on brake pedal.
gauges work, 4way flashes work? these are circuits/fuses in system
