2010 60 Plate Vauxhall Astra 1.6 55K Approx Hi all, I have been having issues with my 2010 Astra H 1.6 Sri for a while and need some help! The engine has been misfiring for a while but only the first cylinder the error code I get when doing the pedal test is ECN 030101. I changed the coil pack and spark plugs and then went on a drive from London to Southampton and the performance was awful, I struggled to get up to 70 MPH at times and generally the car felt like it lacked power. I idle at around 750 Revs but it goes up and down its not a steady idle. This was the same before I changed the coil pack and spark plugs though. On the way back from Southampton I stopped at after 10 minutes I tried to start the car and it struggled to start and took a few attempts. When i got home I had a look at the coil pack and the first coils rubber had melted a little bit. Since then I have avoided driving but when I have been driving I get the same issues with starting and just general performance. If I haven't driven the car starts okay still not perfectly, if the engine has been running it struggles to start and I have to put the accelerator down and pray it starts. Please see videos for reference. https://youtu.be/K49irvD0rkA https://youtu.be/Gh7ktMg-LuQ https://youtu.be/mlbmrNsJ4Ug This is when I haven't started it it starts okay but sounds weird. I have got a misfire but I was wondering could there be any other issues that are causing my performance and starting to be degraded? I am changing the coil pack and spark plugs tonight. As I drove around 3k Miles with a misfire and been getting a smell like rotting eggs the Cat will be changed this weekend. Also I will be giving the EGR Valve a clean but other than the what I have mentioned is there anything else that I could do? I have my MOT due soon and really do not want to fail! Any help would be much appreciated!

This car not sold to the US where most regulars are so limited for specifics. If you smelled the "rotten egg" of a converter long enough to kill one at 55K that suggest the cylinder at fault was really wasting fuel badly to me and might be in trouble in general. I think I'd check compression on that and at least another known good one and see just how far off they might be and go from there. Raw fuel if so can wash out oils and wear cylinder is what I'd want to rule out or in, T
