Altinator Charging problem

Ok, I have a 1997 Ford Taurus 3L V6 the battery light came on on the dash and when I checked the altinator it looked like a baring in the back had come apart and poped out looked very worn so I decided to replace the Altinator. I bought a NEW altinator and installed it but am only getting 12.2 volts across the battery when running also checked with volt meter pos. lead on back of alt. and neg lead on battery and it reads same 12.2 volts, took the alt off and back to auto parts store and they tested and said the altinator tests good... put it back in and had battery tested and it tested good as well, took the new alt to a different auto store (same chain) and they said they would replace it with another one. Installed SECOND NEW altinator and same problem Does not look like battery is charging. Got my friend to bring over his taurus and pulled his altinator as I Knew it was good and installed it in my car but still only getting 12 volts on battery and its not charging. I checked all the cables from alt to battery and none look damaged anybody have any ideas on what the problem could be ???? I am at my wits end.

Wow...... I bet you have your time down pretty good on R&Ring alternators on Ford 3.0 by now......
It sounds like you've checked the main post to the back of the alt but check it again just to be sure. Put the neg lead on the battery neg and the pos lead on the big terminal on the back of the alt & confirm 12v.
If all is good then you to check the other power feeds to the regulator. There is 2 wires to check, an orange/light blue wire that should always have 12v and a light green/red wire that should have 12v with KOEO (key on).
Before you do any of this, get a test light and check all the fuses under the hood & in the instrument panel........
