I have a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria. For the last 6 months or so I have been having trouble with my A/C, heating, clock and interior lights. The fuse that is responsible for all of them continues to blow out. I replace it and it works for a day and then I start it up and it blows out again. Yesterday, I replaced it again, and after allowing the car to warm up for several minutes, I noticed smoke coming out from the interior lights on the ceiling. I immediatly shut the car off and removed the fuse, the smoke stopped. I am wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be? It definitely is something more than just the fuse. Winter is coming and I really need to fix this problem. Ideally I would like it to be something I could do myself. Anyone having a similar problem? Solutions appreciated!!! Thanks

There is no question that the problem is a short circuit somewhere in that circuit. the problem is locating it. You jusyt have to start disconnecting things on that circuit until you find the source of the short. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks for your reply! Do you know how expensive it would be to repair? I am not exactly an auto mechanic, is fixing a short circuit something easy enough to do myself?
