99 Grand Prix-Think something may have fallen off-strange idle noise

I was in a Wendy's parking lot today. I heard a clunk. I thought maybe I had hit a cup-it was around a corner so I did not think anything of it. I didn't hear any change in car initially.
However, I noticed later my idle noise changed. It is very weird. It is more noticeable when I am stopped and have brake applied. The noise/vibration is not apparent when I am accelerating, When I have had an exhaust problem in the past, the noise became worse when I was accelerating, etc. Any idea what could cause this weird noise/rattle ..as I said above it becomes more noticeable when I am stopped/idling than when I am accelerating. It also appears to be worse when I am in drive than when I am in park..when I was in a grocery store parking lot earlier I changed gears and it was not as noticeable in park as it was in drive. Any assistance is appreciated..
