Just changed fuel pump and fuel tank. I believe that I crossed two of the three fuel lines connected to the fuel pump. One is 3/8" , the other two are 5/16" which are the one I suspect are crossed.

I put some gas in and the truck started and ran fine, no leaks. I put the balance of the gas in (7 gallons, est.) and took it for a ride. About a mile out it started bucking and hesitating. When I pulled over, I found gas leaking from the EVAP outlet behind the tank. When truck is off, no leak.

Can anyone confirm my hunch?

Thank you in advance.

LOU

Yep, it sounds like you did and probably destroyed most of the EVAP system in the process.

Didn't think this was possible, but I guess it you have a big enough hammer you can make it work. From what I remember it is difficult to switch the vapor and pump return lines at the sender. The vapor line connects to the middle nipple that has a tab, so you can't plug the return onto it.

Wonder what the return fuel did to the vapor separator valve on the top of the sender? Probably laying in the bottom of the gas tank....LOL
