Somehow, the back door seal on my 98 buick regal has come loose and now when the door is shut the seal gets all jammed up and ends up hanging into the interior. This is a big problem when it rains because it causes the water to run right into the floorboard and puddle up. I have left it parked since the spring of this year and now it smells like mildew and mold on the inside. I think I can take care of that matter but without fixing the seal, it will just keep happening. SO my question would be: What can I use to glue the seal back in place, and what is the best approach to get it back in the right spot? chickenhouse Enthusiast Mar 1, 2010, 4:38 PM Post #2 of 6 (1941 views) Re: 98 buick regal door seal leak Sign In I would suggest the yellow weatherstrip as an adhesive for the door. Clean the surfaces, make sure you can put it in place pretty easy and apply the weatherstrip sparingly into the channel of the rubber and put in place. I guess Google will be my friend to find out what that is lol. Something else, is it possible that the seal has shrunk and it won't go back into place no matter how hard I try? Can you buy a replacement at a regular auto parts store or do you have to go to the dealer for something like that? I think the sealer is yellow - not the weather stripping. Got one on a GM that isn't in place myself and being a pill to get it back! If you go for new if it can't be saved wear your seat belt as they don't usually give that stuff (the weatherstrip) away - shocking! I'd investigate used if it can't be salvaged. Dry out carpets if it takes removing them or the dang mold will never quit! Just tell them what you need it for & they will give you the right stuff. How bad is the current one? Re-useable?
