97 lumina sputtering and stalling. helpp pleasee!?!

97 chevy lumina started to sputter after getting off highway and then stalled at a redlight. got the car started 2 minutes later. the check engine light is on but all the lights in the car dont work after stalling and restarting. the car has around 150,000 miles on it, i believe. its not here because its my gf car and this happening this morning. im not sure about the size of the engine. any input on what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated!

Always check the basics first . check batt connections , clean and tight. batt fully charged , Check all fuses with a test light. Look over eng for anything unplugged or damaged (squirrels)
