Ok, my car has been sitting in our drive, undriven, for months now. I am unable to drive until my legs heal so my mom tries to take of it for me. Over the winter, we kept the battery charged and ran it in the drive a few times a week. Well after winter, the plan was for her to drive on occasional errands, but my breaks have gone bad...from sitting? The pedal goes all the way to the floor now so can't really drive it. That's problem #1.

Problem #2 is that it's leaking oil. It was just a small leak, but I guess from what she and the neighbor tell me, there's almost a puddle of it under the car now. The car used to have a small, unnoticeable leak or something when I would drive it every day...I'd have to add oil every couple of weeks, but now it's been sitting and it's leaking a bunch.

My neighbor is going to look at it, but I can't really afford trial and error when it comes to fixing it. Maybe you can give me an idea of where to direct him to? I'd really appreciate any help.

Brakes are too important for him to learn on. There are many shops that will be willing to look at it and give you an estimate for free annd that's the way you need to go.

Oh, no...he knows how to fix the brakes. He works on his car all the time. But with oil leaking, from what I've managed to find online, it could be one of many of things. That's why I was talking about trial and error. I'm hoping it's just a seal or something, but don't want to buy and have him install a bunch of parts for those not to be the solution. Sorry for the mixup on that

And that makes him a brake expert? I don't think so........

The car needs to be examined by someone that knows what to look for. When looking for an oil leak, you always look for and repair the highest leak and go from there because oil runs down hill. I can't tell you what's leaking without seeing the car.
