97' Ford Thunderbird O/D Off light Flashing

97' Ford Thunderbird O/D Off light Flashing Sign In

The O/D Off light is flashing (im new to cars i can figure how to fix and repair its i cant figure out whats wrong it have to be told.... not good really) So i looked up what that light even meant and it said its the overdrive light and it keeps flashing on and off while im driving any ideas or should i take it to autozone and have them check the error codes?

Welcome to the forum. Yes, you need to have the system scanned for codes. Please post back the exact code number, not the part name they say is bad. The code will be like P07xx (the xx is also numbers.) It may also be a number like a P17xx. We will be waiting for your next post.

i do not think you will get a code for the o/d i maybe wrong i never could with a modis

The o/d light flashing indicates a problem in the transmission. Your scanner should pull the codes. They are usually in the P07xx range.

really thats od i could never do it with the modis and the modis is the best scann tool out there but of course i only tried it once so i dunno

I have the OTC Nemesis as a generic and it will pull the codes.

i not to aquated with the OTC nemessis i have use it once and didnt like it other folks i know has the OTC and they had to borrow my modis cause the nemissis basicaly lied to them it was on ABS something bout it showed 1 or 2 wheels x2 when infact that the car had no codes i dunno i know i am used to the modis and thats all
