Someone told my wife that she may have a CO leaking into her car and causing her to get sick. They said that some seal may have worn and would need to be replaced. I have no idea what seal he was talking about and have no idea what I would be looking for. Any suggestions?

Serious stuff! CO (Carbon Monoxide) is odorless, colorless gas and deadly! If running VERY well this car doesn't make much of it but all should go clear out tailpipe.

This, if so would most likely be an exhaust system fault and likely also a body flaw too if proven so. Exhaust parts must flex up near the engine and those pipes can fail. One would think you would hear it as well. Quick test that may help is to try (coolish engine) plugging off tail pipe with a rag and heavy glove while listening for an exhaust leak.

Here - Fire departments have hand held CO detectors and would gladly test that for you if thought to enter cabin. TMK, some dominant symptoms would include headache, fatigue and redness of skin and probably bloodshot eyes. Those would be dangerous levels!

GET REAL ANSWERS ON THIS ASAP PLEASE UP TO AND INCLUDING NOT DRIVING THIS CAR UNTIL VERIFIED. NOT A JOKE IT'S DEADLY IF SO,

T

To add; A thimble full of CO (carbon monoxide) will kill a human. Not something to 'mess' with. Type CO into your search engine. Will give you symptoms of CO poisioning. Take Tom's advice. Have the fire dept. check it for you.
