96 Aerostar misfire after cam & synchronizer replacment

I recently had to replace the cam position sensor & synchronizer in my '96 Aerostar w/ 3.0 liter. I bought the tool & installed it according to Mitchell On Demand. The engine misfires & if I turn the synchronizer, the misfire move to other cylinders. I have changed the plugs & wires recently also.

Did you start with the engine up on compression on #1 cylinder? I am sure MOD had that as first step. I have seen some tools not exactly right but they are far between.

Yes, it is at top dead center.
