Hey guys! This is Ryan in Texas. Ok, I am going broke trying to fix this van, if you can post a helpful response I will be so appreciative! Here is the issue- Something is causing the battery to drain on this 94 Astro Van, It will drive with a new battery and then slowly over the next 2 or 3 days the battery will die, but sometimes just turning it off and then starting it immediately will bring the battery power gauge back up? I replaced the obvious stuff like the alternator($460) and battery cables, I was talked into spending $600 dollars at a big chain shop that starts with an M to replace the fuel pump, still did nothing. I have spent about $160 on new batteries also. The van runs great when it does run (usally after I put a new fully charged battery in it) that's why I dont want to junk it, the body is great and it has brand new rims and tires, it would be a shame to sell it for parts. Please help, I have searched other internet threads and one theory I have is that is is a bad fuse somewhere, like maybe where the power distribution box is, or a fuseable link wire that is now burned out? Or a self resetting fuse? If anyone has a clue please let me know. Go Rangers!

You should be simply testing the charging system and if no problems there, test for a parasitic draw on the battery. I don't know why you're replacing part without doing any testing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
