91 geo storm turns over wont start Sign In

I have a 91 geo storm gsi it sat for about 5 months and wasnt used im trying to get it to work now i chagred the battery it was dead when i tryed to start it was making a clicking sound which i figured was the starter i checked battery cables and gave it a few turns it seemed to break lose now the problem is im not getting fire i think when i start it it just turns but wont start i checked spark plugs and they are good sprayerd starter fluid directy into manifold still nothing turn the key it just turns but doesnt crack so now the only thing i can imagine it maybe a auto shut off some where that isnt letting it get fire even if it were gas the starter fluid would have done something i think I had a 95 ranger that had this problem went through hell changed the fuel pump checked everything 20 times later i found out there was some type of censor on the passenger side that cuts off the gas line if you were in a wreck my friend had kicked it with his foot SO im praying that something like that is the problem with the geo im broke and this is now my only car anyway thats it thanks to anyone that respones oh also one more thing there is a wire just out in the open i uploaded a picture of it here

Apparently of a host of problems it doesn't have spark but you should test for spark with a spark tester not just looking at plugs. Starting fluid should have reacted but for a 5 month rest time on a car like that it might be more. IDK - plugs may have been water soaked and don't spark properly so use a tester,

Well i had my friend test them while i was trying to crack it and they were sparking i dont have a tester but im sure someone i know does i'll try and find it also the plugs do have some gooy blackish liquid kind of next to them i dont know but if it's sparking even with the liquid could it still be the problem or cause damage? i'll clean it out then going to see if one of my friends has a tester

Whatever "blackish-gooish" is could be grounding out spark and not sparking at plugs at all. If you can even 'redneck it' with the screwdriver trick - plug wire end to known ground or better take a plug out and ground the threads with it hooked up to wire for just glance.

Gotta clean up whatever that goo is with hopefully just towels, compressed air just don't soak the mess clean with water to mess it up any more,

Spark plugs: Try not to let them get gas soaked as even air dry they can shoot the spark thru the insulation and not make a spark to fire. New is more tolerant of that. If careful they can be heated to a slight glow at the electrodes and then are likely to work again.

If this flooding continues after you can get it to warm up fully will have to chase that down as to why. I'll have to search out what this thing uses for or tell me. Isn't this a 3 cylinder thing from Suzuki? Is it still a carb?
