My friend has a 87 Dodge Omni that starts and runs fine, after about 10 minutes of driving the throttle becomes less responsive and it seems to lose power. Anyone have ideas what's happening?

Way to many variables to even to begin guessing. We would need a lot more information from you as in engine size, carburetored or injected, fuel pressure and volume, ignition system voltage output and the list goes on and on. There is no magic in repairing a problem like this but a process of checks and tests until you find what the cause is.

I had a relative that the same car and the same thing happened to him. He actually had a plugged catalytic converter. It got so hot that it would make the floor of the car very hot. he got under the car after shutting it off and the converter was glowing red check that first, if that seems possible but you are not sure you can try to poke a hole in the front on the converter to relieve some of the pressure. I hope this helps
