Piratethank you for your time!!!!
1996 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4.o 2wd automatic,
i have replaced=
starter, battery, all three sensors on the intake throttle tps, iac, etc, pcm 3 times bran new 900 cash poof, changed pcm screws to no avail, cap rotor, wires plugs, coil, checked and followed wire harness "none is touching exhaust" cut cat out because of carbon build up,and oil sensor,
had one good drive mpg went from 7 to 9 to 18 to 22 the night i cut the cat out and welded straight pipe with o2 sensor in it to muffler, next day went back 7 to 9 mpg with extra crap bonus it now from time to time to never ending ,it starts to shimmy whole jeep and sputter with really loud backfiring and carbon clouds i mash petal does nothing but kinda dies like a stall but not, when letting off gas engine kicks back to normal,if i mash it quick and let up and mash it quick again it takes off but i cant cant drive balls to the wall round town,

over all jeep runs like a rap date when gas petal mashed, but 7mpg firm and rough idle and carbon clouds as if i pressed a smoke screen button to evade batman.
but I'm stuck with this jeep mother gave to me ,spent the money i had to get a okay ride in pcms sensors and gas,80 cash to fill up and i get maybe 100 miles to empty.
again thank you sirs for your time and wisdom, and tolerance of my misspelling

(spell checked it for you was near illegible - TomG)

First thing to do is stop throwing away $ and parts at random like that! Put a working catalytic converter back on and sensors in place.

Get a real good code reading and follow areas of trouble. Old converter may be junk from so much raw fuel by now. You are costing yourself a fortune by not having this professionally diagnosed in my opinion.

Side note: Site has spell check. Better yet download Google tool bar with spell check and select the one you meant from a drop down list is fast and easier as it can automatically do a whole page at once,
