I have a 79 chevy silverado c10 with an edelbrock carb and im pretty sure a 350 engine. Has trouble before with it starting but turned out to be ignition switch going out so when needed i connect a wire to the starter wire ans batter with a push button to start it. Changed the spark plugs in it rebuilt the starter is the recent work done to it. It would take a sec to start before but fine tuning the carb fixed that. But one morning i went to drive and it just cranked and wouldnt start and hasnt since. Not sure if its the fuel pump but i loosened the fuel line from the filter and fuel was coming out pretty good so i dont think its that. Im thinking it might be the carb but i know very little about them any suggestions would be appreciated

You should probably go get yourself a spark tester and check for spark.... check between 30 & 40kv...

Good news is you have one of the easiest ign systems to diag if there is no spark....Just make sure you have 12v on the big red wire going into the cap 1st

ok ill give that a try today and see what happens. in my repair manual for the truck the troubleshooting kept saying to check the carburetor for stiff movement but everything seemed to move fine.

Rule out lack of a good spark or any at all as suggested. Hey - if this has a vacuum advance on distributor and hasn't happen to you yet AND shows no spark look inside as wires to the module under cap bend or rub with motion of vacuum advance and shouldn't touch anything to wear thru. Check those just anyway at this age if a vacuum advance was used on this - think it was.

Fuel issue? Maybe - if not running at all just spray some starting fluid, carb cleaner down throttle and see if it reacts and doesn't without doing that,
