I've had the car for about a year and a half, bought it with only 8,000 miles on it, but I've put it up to 30k just recently. Always get my oil changed on time, get fluids checked regularly etc..
Recently I noticed it start to jerk a bit when I'm first starting to accelerate, and then at higher RPM it doesn't really do it from what I can tell. Once I brake again and then start to accelerate into 2nd gear, it does a jerk again, but it's honestly near very beginning of acceleration most of the time, not necessarily when I'm about to hit 2nd gear. Last night it started doing it and the check engine light came on and then the TRAC OFF light came on as well. I'm going to try to take it into a garage today, but I want to know if anyone might have an idea what this could be.
I changed the air filter just to see if that could be it, but no change. Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance!

Hard to say what it could be. Could be anything from ignition issues to VVT problems. The engine computer detected a fault, so gathering codes may be a clue as to were to look for the culprit.
Let us know what your mechanic find out.
