2010 Prius tire pressure warning light won't go off Sign In

Hi all,

I recently acquired a 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid. It has a 'tire pressure warning light' on the dash. It has gone on in the past and so I filled the tires to the correct pressure and after resuming driving, the warning light went off. Couple weeks later it has come back on again and, I made sure the tires were filled to the correct pressure, but the warning light will not go out. I see in the owners manual that the wheels are equipped with 'tire pressure warning valves and transmitters'. I've never encountered this kind of technology before. Could something be wrong with one or more of those?

Thanks.

Dennis

First off............... I removed your signature where you included the link. I suggest you immediately shut that off as advertising is grounds for immediate banning here.

On your problem. You need to have a shop with TPMS equipment scan your sensors and module for problems. These sensors are made with a non-replaceable battery that generally lasts 5-7 years. You will likely have to replace and program all the sensors.

hello @hammertime,

I realize that there are rules to read before posting and that this is probably one of them. I'll admit that I did not read those rules. I've been a member here for a while and never had an issue like this. With all due respect, if a signature with link is not allowed on this forum, there should not be a line for 'homepage' in the profile section (unless the 'link' itself is the issue, however, listing your homepage without a link is still advertising so.... ).

I was able to figure out how to turn the TPMS warning light off with some amount of research on the web. Perhaps this will help other people, as a first step, to possibly resolving the problem before going straight to the auto repair shop and spending money that may not be necessary. The TPMS reset button in my Prius is below the steering wheel to the right of the electronic sensor input jack (see image below). I just pushed the 'Power' button to start the car, then pushed and held the TPMS reset button until the TPMS warning light flashed slowly three times. This did not immediately turn the warning light off. I then drove the car down the street about 1/2 mile and the TPMS warning light went out.

Best,

Dennis

I hope this is of help to someone.

And yet you manage to show that link in the forum again.

This is your last warning.
