2010 CHevy HHR LT 2.2 rough idle and stutter at 2000-2500

Hello, I am new to all this so forgive me if I ask the wrong question or mispost something. The other day we had a rough rain and while I was driving I turned a corner and hit a deep puddle. After I hit the puddle my car shuddered and lost some power but still drove. Afterwards the Service ESC and Service Traction light came on. The car has a rough idle and puts out puffs of black smoke from the muffler. The RPM bounces at idle. After a few days of driving the car would lose all power while in gear at a stoplight or stopsign. I replaced the spark plugs that all had very black tips, cleaned the MAF sensor, put Seafoam at advice of AutoZone in the fuel and oil. A week before the rain I just did an oil change, oil filter, and air filter. I've been trying to do research and the few things I've seen is the MAP, TPS, or O2 sensors but am not sure what my next step should be, any advice would be welcomed thank you. Dave

if you want to try repair yourself- first step will ne a scan, the codes MAY help but I suspect you will need to look at so called live data... The live information as well as ABS Trac issues will require a 'professional' scanner Iwill add as you allready changed spark plugs- did you use AC Delco?

Well it was either keep driving through it or stop in the middle of it. so I figured the former was a better decision.

We ran a scan once. The codes are not on me at the moment but two came up. One was a misfire - which is why I replaced the spark plugs, i'd have to look at the box to see what brand I think bosch though. And the other was talking about the MAF which i cleaned as well.

No, there was a choice not to drive into it in the first place. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

the road is was on was fine, it was raining hard enough to where you couldn't see perfectly and as soon as you make the turn is dropped off into the puddle. so yes I did have to go through it. I asked for advice not a jerk.

You're the one that flooded your car, not me. If you didn't know how to avoid driving it through a flood, then you have to live with the results. If you don't want to hear the answer, then don't ask the question. Your question has been asked and answered so will close this now before you say something you can't take back.
