Worked fine all last winter, no problem. Has not been used all summer. Tried it for the 1st time a few days ago and when my wife attempted to use it, lights came on like normal and then when car would normally start it would just make a clicking noise. I have only tried it a couple of times since and same results. I have not pursued the matter any further at all. I am hopping to maybe get some information on this problem.

Is the "clicking noise" also possible when just plain started with a person in it? That is low amps delivered to starter usually look for connection condition for all battery cable ends and test battery itself.
Other: These are almost always aftermarket and substandard wiring connections would consider strongly removing this this totally as now unsafe as a handy feature,
