Hello

I have an intermittant starting issue with the Journey. It's happened off and on (mostly off) for a year or so but seems to be getting more frequent. When I go to start the Journey it does not crank or turn over, all lights and radio come on. After two cranks the Journey starts. I told the dealer the issue a year ago and they upgraded some software, but that does not seem to be the issue.

I have looked on the internet for clues and while this poblems does seem to exist in 09 Journeys (and other Dodges for that matter) there does not seem to be a definite answer. Things suggested were wiring, fuel, pump, starter, ignition, and the WIN module. But I don't want to take it to the dealer and be uninformed.

It's frustrating becasue it's intermittant and might not even occur if i took it in. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Intermittents are hard to diagnose because it has to fail in front of us while our test equipment is on it to capture the fault. I don't know who thinks a fuel pump would make it not crank over, but I would cease getting advice from someone that ignorant in the future. You need to find out if the trigger wire or the starter is getting energized with the full 12v when you turn the key to start and it doesn't crank over.

Hi
Intermittant starting issue.
I had exact same problems, lights work will not start then 1 hr later starts. I changed win module at a cost of $350.Did not fix the problem. I talked to a head tech at Chrysler told me to replace started. Problem fixed. Good luck all.Cool
