2008 hyundai sonata

I have a 2008 hyundai sonata that the esc light is on and will not go off and i am having intermittent problems with acceleration sometimes the car will not go no matter how far you push the accelerator any help is appreciated

Need to have the engine controller scanned to see what trouble code(s) are being stored. Write down the numbers and let us know.
