I lost the keys to my car, and the dealer told me that they couldn't cut me a new one because the key code was incorrect on the original car document. Meaning, whoever entered the code in when the original key was cut, entered it wrong. I got a locksmith to come out and try, but he also said that he couldn't cut it.
I then got my car towed to the dealership, where a Suzuki locksmith is going to give it one last shot. I'm afraid that I'm going to have to sell it for parts, because this model is not sold in North America...so the dealer was unsure if the parts necessary to replace the ignition switch and car door locks are even AVAILABLE to me. And if they were...it would be extremely expensive.
I'm extremely exhausted and angry at Suzuki, but I am just at a loss for what to do.

You need to help me/us -- are you saying this key is totally unique to a country of origin not US or Canada? Is it a cut key as could be done from a blank or has a chip in it so it communicates with the car to enable it to start?
Can you get a key blank at least? If that's the trouble get Suzuki's web site or a phone # for N. America and plain call them with as much vehicle data you can muster at the ready. I don't know what else to say and yes cars can be all different for silly (not so funny) things like this depending on original country it was destined for. Suzuki as a car company should help you. I can't.
If a chip thing in the key there are ways around that but can't know just what it would take,

You could park it in the bad side of town at night. I garranty someone there will figure out your problem in a jiffy...LOL
You can buy the lock cylinder aftermarket. You'll have to have the old lock cylinder drilled out. The locksmith should be able to do that with no problem. Then you can have the door cylinders coded to the new key.
I don't see the huge deal with this. Why would they have to replace the ignition switch?
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
