I just bought used Nissan Xterra 2007 about 2 weeks ago. Engine normally starts perfectly initially, but if I switch off engine after driving for a while e.g, stopping to fuel, it will not start again but ignition will keep rolling with all dashboard indicators coming on fully. After a while, like 30 minutes or more, engine will start again. I have not done anything but just parked the car. Kindly help on what the problem could be. Thank you.

just acquired vehicle- sounds like you did not have a professional check it out for you BEFORE ... My experience to get you started - the check engine light (CEL) is it on ? More important does it come on EVERY time you try to start - designed to come on @2seconds then go out- On used vehicles very very often I see the buld removed to mask issues. What is your skill comfort level - dio you have -scanner? DVOM? fuel pressure gauge? SUGGESTION: FREE check to begin troubleshooting You can get it to run but it needs to sit before restart ?- Then drive to autozone, advance, orielys type auto parts for a FREE scan post the #codes they mention and post here SWAG: you have a fuel issue ie leaking injector, you MAY want to check engine oil for any evidence of excess fuel
