2006 Saturn Ion with Misfire issues Sign In

Ok so hopefully someone can answer my question:

I have a 06 Saturn Ion, with 88k miles, Just recently had a tune up. One afternoon I went to a local gas station and used the pumps to fill about 1/2 tank of gas. After I had filled up, I noticed that most of the pumps ( with the exception of 2) were bagged off. Not to long after that, my car started to have these misfire issues while idling. It's idling between 500 and 1000 and when I hit the gas it doesn't have any power behind it. I took it to a mechanic, all he did was tell me the code was for the 3rd and 4th cylinders misfiring. He was too busy to actually help me other than that. So I am wondering if this is a gas issue ( which i think/hope it is) or a more serious problem. Please if anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. If you need any more info that I may have left out, just let me know. Thanks!

It could be but nobody is going to know until the fuel system is checked.

That's the only way you will know if you have contaminated fuel or not.

Right after getting fuel does make you wonder. Not sure what good it did to "bag" off other pumps? Could never speak for other places but here any gasoline pump will pump the grade selected and only diesel is a separate pump entirely. Source in ground would feed all pumps unless so big a place the set up was different.

Whatever - checking the fuel would be in order,
