2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Heat not workin Sign In

I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. The heat is working intermittenly. Sometimes I get really warm air and sometimes it is cool (not cold, but not hot). There doesn't seem to happen at any specific time. One day I could see my breath in the car all the way to work (20 min drive). I live in AZ, so the coldest it has gotten is in the low 30s. My brother looked at the car, and can't find anything wrong. He said that I just need to let my car warm up because when he tested it it was blowing 110 degree air. I understand that the heat doesn't work until the engine warms up, but if I look at the engine temp gauge, and the arrow is in the middle, then I would think that I would be getting warm air.
Any suggestions?

When it's acting up I would check the in and out pipe for the heatercore make sure they are both hot. if one is hot and one is cold you probably have a blocked/partially blocked heater core. If they are both hot you might have a blend door problem.

Also make sure that your coolant level is good in the radiator. Check the level in the radiator when the engine is cold. Even though the reservoir may be full, a leak in the coolant system could cause the system to not pull from the reservoir.
