My 2006 chev Colorado 2wd 4 cyl 70000 mi starts and runs great but whenever I come to a stop the eng almost stalls out. The rpm drops and then catches at the last moment before stalling and jumps back to a normal idle. It has stalled a couple of times. If i tap the gas when idling it does this also. What can I do to diagnose and solve this problem, as it could become dangerous.

You can try something easy first and that would be to clean the throttle body when it gets too dirty you can get this problem. Get some throttle body cleaner, a little brush and clean it out. If this is drive by wire, don't manually force the plate open, sometimes you can turn the key on & have a helper hold the throttle to the floor & it will open, if it doesn't just carefully spray some clean down the throttle body while a helper feather the throttle to keep it running. This will probably set a code that needs to be cleared later........
