2005 acura revving high, burning smell

2005 acura RSX type S
It started acting up today. When trying to speed up, all it does is rev loudly. It very slowly tops out at 60 mph. I would try to punch the gas and the speed wouldnt respond, but the RPMs would jump. So, high RMPs and little acceleration.. We get home and get out of the car to quickly notice a plastic/electrical burning smell. Also had trouble gaining acceleration from a complete stop. There are no check engine lights, or leaks at all. Gear shifting was normal, but the clutch felt a little soft. Any ideas?
