Sign In Greetings all, 2005 Chevy Impala 3.4 L 207 CID V6 142,000 miles. Have had a problem in recent weeks with the check engine line coming on. Strange thing is when you turn off the ignition it goes out! Now to the problem Today it was running and the check engine light came on and started flashing. After a few minutes of flashing the engine began missing real bad and eventually stalled. I got it to start but it ran real rough and I had to baby the thing to keep it running. I took it to my buddy who put it on his his computer and it showed a "random misfire" We changed to plugs and wires. It ran good for 15 minutes then repeated the whole process over again. He cleared the light and we turned off the ignition and it ran perfectly. I went out a few hours later and...you guessed it it was missing like crazy. Any ideas?? Just because you threw you report card away before you got home doesn't mean you still didn't fail the course.
