2005 Caravan Brake pedal eventually goes to floor Sign In

I have a 2005 Dodge caravan with the 3.3. Just wondering what I need to replace? What happened was the power steering pump was leaking which i have replaced but when the wife added power steering fluid she added it to the brake resivore a couple of times. So would PS fluid eat up everything in Brk system. The pedal will stay firm when coming to a stop but if you let up on it any little bit it will go to the floor also the right rear has locked up on it but was able to get it to release with a little rocking.

You have a big problem now. Contamination of the brake fluid will destroy every component that has rubber in it. You can't shortcut this either because it will just keep ruining new parts. You have to replace everything with rubber in it and flush the system thoroughly. That includes the Master cyl, calipers wheel cylinders, all rubber flex hoses and likely the ABS unit also. That is a very expensive mistake.

Remember, if you leave even one contaminated component, it can re-contaminate all your new parts.
