2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V 2.5L 6speed man. 100k miles

When i first start up the vehicle after its been siting for about and hr and a half or two hrs. and start driving any gear (including reverse) i get this harsh grinding/crushing noise coming from the left front of the vehicle it almost sounds like an ice crusher on a refrigerator without the electric motor noise...and it only makes this noise up until about 15 miles per hour or about 20-25 feet and i wont hear it again until after it sits again... while this noise is occurring its putting alot of resistance in the drive... it wont even roll down a semi steep driveway in nutral and has alot of resistance in the left front... it does sound like i have a wheel bearing going out cuz i can hear a womping hum when i go down the highway, but ive never heard a wheel bearing sound like this though... so i need to narrow it down to a wheel bearing or a transaxle problem.... any help on where to look would be greatly apreciated>>>> just got back from subway and now it does it intermittently while i drive any speed (crushing noise) and a few squeeks while i drive...
Halp with any info is still requested

fixed/ repaired YAY! my bearing was TOTALLY fubar'd flattend out roller bearings and everything... practically seized... but it was practically fused to the spindle ... which was also fubar'd... so when i shook it down it had no play up down left or right ... short of it all replaced spindle... replaced bearing ... paid 65 bucks done deal

Sly

Jack it up and see if either side is loose. If it's making that much noise it probably is and won't be safe.

having own a 02 spec V they are known for going through wheel bearings like underwear....usually more the rear then the front but nonetheless still fairly common. If you are running aftermarket wheel/tire combo it tends to amplify/speed up the process due to the extra rolling mass of bigger/heavier wheels & tires.

Does the noise happen regardless of wether the clutch is engaged or disengaged?

If it is as pronounced as you described it should be fairly easy to find once you have it jacked up and can inspect it.
