2004 Trail Blazer, we had a dead battery, didn't change it out for a couple of weeks. Put in new battery runs good until you turn on air conditioner and then the motor runs really ragged and it quits. Did not have any problems with until battery change. What I need to fix this problems, it's my wife's car?

It should straighten itself out. The computer has to relearn the idle strategy now that you cleared the memory by disconnecting the battery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Clean the throttle body and that should solve your problem. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I'm leaning toward Ht on this one . It definently needs to do a relearn after no power for so long . THe throttlebody would cause a poor idle but should not a factor that much at speed. IMO LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH

Have been seeing this a lot on GM with the electronic throttle body. What happens is the customer has the battery replaced for some reason or the battery is disconnected. When power is restored the idle values are lost. The PCM goes to a default setting to relearn idle control, but the throttle bore is gummed up with carbon causing the engine to stall out or idle really low. Cleaning the throttle body usually fixes that problem. There is even a TSB on it: Subject: Engine Stalls When Air Conditioning Is Turned On at Idle Models: 2004-2007 Buick Rainier 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trailblazer EXT 2002-2007 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL and Envoy XUV 2002-2004 Oldsmobile Bravada 2005-2007 Saab 97x Condition/Concern: Engine may stall with the air-conditioner on and or while adding additional loads to the engine at idle. An example of an addition load would be turning the steering wheel left or right with the air-conditioning on. This type of stall usually occurs during idle or slow parking lot maneuvers. This concern may not set any diagnostic trouble codes. Recommendation/Instructions: Clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM top engine cleaner, GM P/N XXXXXXX (Canadian P/N 993026) or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, P/N X66-P, or an equivalent product. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. Clean this: Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
