2004 Silverado Passenger Window Not Working Sign In

I have a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado LS 5.3lt ExtCab... My issue is this: My passenger window does not work, passenger lock, interior lights and key fob don't work either, and lastly the door chime doesn't work... I have found that these are all related... I started off with the simple fixes, changed out the passenger window module, didn't fix it, checked all fuses and relays and all are good, took the door apart to see if previous owner forgot to hook something up after replacing speaker and it was all fine, I even took out the aftermarket stereo and put back in the factory, and still nothing changed... My question is: What am I missing? Other than chasing wires, what could be the issue?

Oh, I don't know............... maybe actually diagnosing a problem instead of throwing parts at is.

This is done by following a wiring diagram. If that is beyond your abilities, then this repair isn't for you.

In this particular case you will likely also need a professional, bidirectional scan tool as there are control modules involved that communicate on the CAN network.

Are you sure all the fuses are ok?
Check underhood box to see if MBEC fuse is blown

As HT stated, following a wiring diagram is the best way trace this
But i can offer this to maybe save you some time if you aren't diagram savvy....

These are known for wires chafing thru...most commonly near the left foot area under the dash near the parking brake area under the carpet near the relay block. Look for a chafed Orange wire or any chafed wires.

GM also issued a bulletin stating other areas where wiring was found bad

Note, if and when chafed wiring is found and repaired, Obviously replace fuse and GM recommends replacement of the Circuit Breaker

Here is an excerpt from the bulletin stating the circuit locations where to check.....

If after normal diagnostics no shorts can be found the below items have been reported:

"MBEC 1" Maxi Fuse 50 Amp (SI Document ID # 1242532).
If no shorts are located on circuit 642, inspect circuits 1340 after the "Rt Door" circuit breaker 25 amp and circuit 1440 after the "Seat" circuit breaker 30 Amp (SI Document ID # 1242687).

• Inspect circuit 1340 shorted to ground near the right I/P support bracket.
• Inspect circuit 1340 or 1440 shorted to ground on the support bracket for the I/P relay block/under the carpet.
• Inspect circuit 1440 shorted to ground under or in either front seat.
• Inspect circuit 1440 shorted to ground near the parking brake pedal assembly. The short may only occur if the parking brake pedal is depressed.
"LBEC 1" Maxi Fuse 50 AMP (SI Document ID # 1242532).
• If no shorts are located on circuit 42 inspect circuit 1240 after the "Lt Door" circuit breaker 25 amp (SI Document ID # 1242687).
• Inspect circuit 1240 shorted to ground near the parking brake pedal assembly. The short may only occur if the parking brake pedal is depressed.
Note: Replacement of the circuit breaker is needed if a short to ground is found on circuit 3, 1240, 1340, or 1440.

Was going to do an edit but didn't know if you would see this add on...

Tried to find a picture of the area where I find the orange wire and came across a "writeup" of what a guy did on his ...
