2004 Sequoia Rear Door Latch is temperamental

2004 Sequoia Rear Door Latch is temperamental Sign In

The latch doesn't seem broken, you just have to pull it in the right spot for it to open. Also, you have to hold the latch in for a second before it release to open. Is the cable loose? Does the latch need to be replaced? Not sure how to fix it because it's not actually *broken.*

I really don't know if this is a cable or electric release to the latch. In that you said there's a delay is sounds more like an electric release. Either way do spray WD-40 on all moving parts you can get to while it is open and do things like that to hinges, locks, latches on some regular basis.

People don't think of that in routine maintenance but should. Some of the item are quite difficult to replace depending on how, where and what failed. Lube is cheap,

Well, you do feel a bit of a click when you pull on it, so I'm thinking it's cable. Yeah, I will lube it up. Why didn't I think of that? Thank you!!
