2004 Pontiac Aztek bad gas mileage

I have 2004 2wd aztek with a 3.4L. The car has around 153,000 miles on it. About 3-4 months ago I changed the pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter, and cleaned the throttle body and mass air flow sensor. I haven't changed the plugs and wires yet. Its been about 2 years since changing the plugs and wires. I always fill the tank up because it used to last longer. After changing all the stuff I listed above, the gas mileage went from about 300 miles a tank, to almost 450 miles a tank. Since then it has dropped back down to the 300 miles a tank. Would plugs and wires really cause the big of a drastic drop in mileage? Is there anything else to check, clean, or replace? Thanks to everyone

You need to figure MPG over a few tanks filled and take the MPG # from that. If running properly and no malfunction light on then it's probably just chance, driving situation for that time, temperature, fuel stations pumps that vary a bit at shut off points, or other factors.
If as you said "almost 450 miles" means you run it till perhaps some warning of low fuel comes on expect to ruin your fuel pump. They stay cool by the fuel in the tank and when hot give out much more quickly.
Wires and plugs unless it was misfiring really don't make much difference in mileage but can buy you more time before needed again. Every 2 years may be excessive for replacement depending on several factors too. Use OE ignition parts from reputable parts outlets. Forget claims of any suggestion that plugs that get advertised to increase MPG really do, they don't,
