Mitsubishi
Lancer Evolution
2.0 liter Turbo
27k Miles

The car is completely stock except for a turbo timer. I just picked it up 4 days ago and it has been driving great. I also changed the Oil the first day i got it. But today when driving on the freeway my car all of a sudden started bogging at about 4k RPM. I pulled off the freeway and the car ran fine up until about 3k rpm and then it would lose all power and almost die. I took it to an auto shop and they diagnosed it as the cat being clogged so when I got home I took off the exhaust and drove around and it still did the same thing. The car sounds completely fine when in neutral being revved up, it's just when under load. Going up hills was near impossible as well.

Is your check engine light on? Was there any stored codes?

You can start off with something easy to do and the would be to clean the MAF sensor (mass air flow) with MAF cleaner.

No light on at the moment, ill check for stored codes though. Yeah, I was planning on doing that in the morning, but the sudden intensity of power loss makes me think that a hose might have blown off or something

Is the blowoff valve working properly? Also, the hoses are a good place to start. You also may have a defective part you just installed.
