2003 Mazdaspeed Protege 4cyl stock turbo 64,000miles Haven't drove my car for 2 weeks, started it up, and realized that my front passenger brake might be stuck some how. The car is manual btw, so when im driving and slowing down to stop, the car almost brakes by itself, it doesnt just roll usually when im in nuetral, i tried to push the car in nuetral and cant cuz the brake. I smelt all the wheels and the front passenger side smells like burning brake, so what would of caused that? Is the caliper locked up, can I fix that myself? Having the ebrake up for 2 weeks wouldn't have anything to do with it because its front wheel drive correct? Any info would be appreciated.

Yes you more then likely have a seized caliper; either the piston or the sliders. No the parking brake would not affect the front brakes; not because the car is a front wheel drive though. It’s because the parking brake is connected mechanically to the rear brakes. As for you repairing this yourself; you’re the only one that can honestly answer that question? It’s not brain surgery by any means; but it is the brakes that we’re talking about. If you’ve never worked on or taught the proper way; then I would suggest having someone supervise you that has the ability and knowledge. Dan. Canadian "EH"

Well I have changed my brake pads before, if the caliper is seized, does that mean it needs to be replaced? Or would i have to go to autozone and get that key to push back the piston?

If the “key” that you’re talking about is what I think it is; it’s not required to depress the piston back into the bore of the caliper that doesn’t have the parking brake incorporated in the caliper. If the caliper is not seized the piston should just press back in with the use of a C clamp or large channel lock pliers. Replacing pads is probably only half the work that replacing calipers is. Have you ever had to bleed the air out of a braking system; because that will need to be done if the calipers are replaced? Not to be rude but with the few questions and comments you’ve made I’m going to suggest that you have this job done for you by someone that is qualified. There’s no shame in saying I don’t know how; especially when it comes to safety related items. Dan. Canadian "EH"
