2003 Chevy S10 rwd, auto, v6 .. About a week ago while driving all of the dashboard gauges went haywire, except the Tach, and all the warning and safety lights came on, a moment later the returned to normal. At the next stop light the motor cut off and I restarted it but had to stay in neutral with a little throttle to keep it running. Later it all returned to normal and no problems for the next 10 days. On day 11 when i went to go to work the keyless worked but went I tried to start it no dash lights no crank no lights or horn Exception with key in on position "service engine soon" light is on. Battery is @ 12.2 volts with engine off no change when key is on. Anyone have a clue to help me get started?

12.2 isn't a good charge. Take your battery to have it charged and tested. While the battery is out make sure your connections are shiny clean. GM side terminal connections are terrible for corroding up. I use a small pick to work the connection completely out of the little rubber hood it sits in. Its not enough to knock off any loose oxidation, you have the get this actually shiny metal clean. After you have done that coat it well with dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion. Install a fully charged battery that has been proven good on a load tester and see if it works. You must have a known good battery with known good and tight connections or any testing you try to do in other areas will be invalid.
Also wouldn't hurt to unbolt the power and ground cables where they bolt into the truck and do the same thing you did at the battery end. A bad contact at the starter, power distribution box or a bad ground can all cause the exact troubles you are having. I've seen vehicles you would swear were possessed just need a good cleaning of the connections and a new battery. The battery and connections are the first place to start.
