My Jeep is a 2003 4WD Liberty with 99250 miles. The engine is a 6cyl 3.7L. It started smoking a white thick smoke that by the smell I'm assuming was coolant. When I would drive my heat gauge would start to climb so I would pull over before it could get too hot. I of course checked my oil and coolant and both were where they needed to be. I had the Radiator checked thinking my Radiator must have been cracked but there weren't any leaks. So I had the thermostat replaced knowing that by now it has to be stuck and for about an hour it had repaired my problem until the heat started to climb again. What could possibly be wrong with my car? I'm now thinking of having my water pump and head gasket checked but is there something that is being overlooked. (Recent History on my car: About a month ago my cars heater would only work if my car was going 40mph or faster but when slow or stopped would blow cold air. Around that same time my car would start to make this squeaky noise like as if a belt were loose, Ive checked the belts and everything seems to be in place)

If the white smoke was coming out of the tailpipe, you are likely looking at either a bad head gasket or a cracked head. A shop can do a chemical test on the cooling system that will show the presence of combustion gases entering the coolant to confirm it. Don't drive it until you get it tested. This won't be a cheap fix but will cause even more damage if you keep driving it.

Sorry I should have specified that it was smoking from the hood of my car not the tailpipe.

You couldn't possibly still be full of coolant. That steam you saw was pure coolant that is missing now.

So When I originally checked it the coolant was full! HOWEVER that was on Friday and I didn't dare risk overheating my engine so I left it stranded till I could move it Saturday evening. When I checked it on Saturday it was low.

I wouldn't be driving this at all. It needs to be pressure tested to locate the leak.

Get the coolant system pressure tested and find out where its losing coolant. The lack of heating inside is because your heater core got an air pocket in it instead of coolant. Air doesn't move heat nearly as well as fluid does.

Turns out it was a cracked radiator and needed a fan replacement... $800 later I should have my car back soon! Thanks Everyone

Please don't create any more new questions for the same issue.
